Be the Boss
The beating heart of our company is its Ambassador Network and Community. Ambassadors are the lifeblood of all we do and we’d love you to be part of the team.
In return for your hard work, during a period when you are already working hard, USW will put together a programme that invests in you and prepares you for life beyond University, working in the event or sailing industry and into paid and leadership roles in the company itself. The USW investment will go far beyond an employee’s reference and focus on personal development, mindset, and entrepreneurism.
Each University will have one Ambassador who will be responsible for recruiting a minimum of 3 crews (18 – 30 pax) and being our representative to them leading up to and the event. You will be given a budget to spend on running local events and give support and ideas on what to do. You can even utilise the senior staff at the company to run talks or seminars on entrepreneurism, sailing, leadership, ecology and sustainability, and so much more. You will have a great deal of autonomy to attract your fellow students, clubs and societies to join us.
Those who recruit more than 10 boats will become members of an Ambassador Founders Club and be invited to more select social events, networking, and sailing opportunities.
What Are We Looking For?
You do not have to be the life & soul of the party to excel in this role. You do need to be curious, dedicated, and determined. You are going to be part of what we want to be one of the biggest student brands on the planet, we are looking the best smart and resilient and to be part of the journey.
How do we help? Well to be fabulous, we expect you to look fabulous – expect lots of free merch from our partners and sponsors to ensure you look your best.
Business Acumen. We are looking for long term relationships with you and the societies you introduce to us. We’ll want you to be steely-eyed and into the detail to get the best deal you can over the line.
How do we help? We’re offering training and support throughout.
We need fun-loving, excitable people to help us ensure that our clients to help the best possible week. You need to be sociable and somebody who enjoys a party.

The University Sail Week will be the biggest student event on the planet; we need your help. We will select a University Ambassador for each University or College to help co-ordinate. We have lots of perks lined up for our ambassadors, from free places to future paid employment. Expect VIP treatment whilst you are there helping us to help your establishment’s crews.

What Do I Have To Do?
Raise Awareness. So we already know you’re amazing, so what’s next? We need you to use your network to introduce societies and sports clubs to join us.
How do we help? We’ll help you bribe and cajole, wine and dine your prospects with a pizza and booze budget.
Take Bookings. We will deal with the societies you introduce, yet we need you to help individuals who want to attend too.
How do we help? We have a team standing -by to help you every step of the way.
Local Representative. On the Sail Week, you will be the first point of contact for your crews should any issues arise; you’ll be responsible for them having a good time!
How do we help? You’ll have access all areas pass wherever we go to help you speak to the right people at the right time to ensure resolutions happen at the lowest possible level.
